Montgomery's Extra Mature Cheddar
The fuller flavour that the 18 month Extra Mature Cheddar brings to the palate is more nutty, the spiciness rises also which gives it a more peppery taste. The texture is a little drier than the Mature as you would expect from the length of maturation.
Montgomery's Smoked Cheddar
Oak-smoked for a full six hours, at award winning Brown & Forrest Smokery, to give an intense flavour and aroma which complements the nutty flavour of the cheese and gives an additional smokey after-taste.
Developed over the last ten years, Ogleshield is made using the beautifully rich milk from the Montgomery’s herd of Jersey cows. The cheese is washed with a special brine every three days to achieve a slightly pungent moist rind which softens the cheese and gives it an extra depth of flavour, A superb Westcountry equivalent to Raclette, it cooks and melts brilliantly.
